An evening of generosity, celebration, and purpose.

Each year, the BrainTree Ball brings Christchurch together for an evening of generosity, celebration, and purpose. The 2025 edition at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre represented a significant step up in production scale.

TES was engaged to design, plan and deliver the full technical solution for the night. One team, responsible for every technical element from concept through to pack-down.

At the heart of the room sat a 20-metre wide by 4-metre high LED wall that transformed Te Pae’s ballroom into an environment matching the energy and importance of the occasion. A broadcast-quality camera system with live speaker capture ensured every guest felt connected to the stage.

Sound was reinforced through a professional line array system driven by Allen & Heath mixing desk. Wireless microphones and headsets delivered crystal-clear coverage through speeches, the live auction, and a full set from Oval Office. Lighting drew from Te Pae’s in-house rig, supplemented by LED wash fixtures and hazers controlled from a comprehensive lighting console, giving the team flexibility to move the room through each chapter of the night.

When an event carries this kind of significance, the last thing an organiser needs is managing multiple technical vendors. A fragmented approach means divided accountability and unnecessary risk. A single production partner means one conversation, one plan, and a team that owns the outcome from start to finish.

The 2025 BrainTree Ball raised over $220,000 for the BrainTree Wellness Centre. It was a privilege to be part of it.
